Tragedy...

No words could do justice....but a recent post by Shaun Groves in his blog is pretty doggone powerful: http://www.readshlog.blogspot.com/

My husband was one of those young men who looked up to Kyle in their youth group and on the soccer field.

You're Home, Kyle. Rest in peace.

I agree that this was an avoidable tragedy. I wonder (as an electrician) why more folks don't realize that even a microphone carries enough voltage to kill. They should always have someone outside the baptismal move it around.

So sad... :'(

Please give Dillon a hug for me...

Thanks, September.

I found out that when Dillon accepted Christ, Kyle is the one he prayed with.

Dillon wrote up a wonderful essay (for lack of a better word) to kind of explain what Kyle meant to him.

After reading my comment again, I realize that it seemed pretty cold. Sorry for that, Amy (and Dillon). It was not my intention.
I'm praying for you both.

Thanks for the apology, Matt. :-).

I know many are scratching their heads wondering why something like that happened. What a horrible way for one's life to end...and with people there seeing it take place.

My heart breaks (and smiles) when I hear the ripple effect that young man (though he was older than me) had on people's lives. I hate that his candle was snuffed out so quickly. God's ways aren't our own, though, and Kyle is reaping his reward. Still...it hurts to walk through this season with Dillon. God's already healing us, though. It's awesome. :-)

Hey Sylvia,

We're doing fine. Thanks for asking. Dillon is finding this period of reflecting on Kyle's life to be more on the comical side. He's been talking about times when they did this and that and laughing about it. Like, we heard a song on the radio and he automatically thought of a time when he was in Kyle's car and heard it and it was funny to him (who knows why? LOL).

All in all, we're doing pretty good. This has been a growing process for both of us. We've grown closer together. :-)
